OFSC Family of The Year 2011 Snowmobile Trip
We are streaming a clip from our last trip with SnowmobilerTV and The Roth Family, the 2011′s OFSC Family of The Year.
The OFSC Family of The Year is an award which highlights the work and commitment of an Ontario family who dedicate their time to their local snowmobile club and to the sport.
It was our second time being involved with the award and this year the recipients received an all expense paid snowmobile trip starting at our very own resort…(drum roll..) The Rosseau, Canada’s first JW Marriott. The 2011 honorees were Rob and Tracy Roth and the whole Roth Family of the SMART snowmobile club in Trent Severn. This time, the Roth Family, Marty Convery of Snowmobiler TV, Lisa Ernst, president West Muskoka Trail Riders, and Steve, guide extraodinaire and I would be sledding West towards Georgian Bay, up to Parry Sound and back again on a two day three night trip. I had the pleasure of hosting their visit at The Rosseau, where our journey began.
I first met the heads of family, Rob and Tracy, on the Friday night of their arrival at The Rosseau. I joined them, their parents, their kids, their sister and brother and their kids (phew…yes they all sled) at Tecca, The Rosseau’s fine dining restaurant. From the first few minutes that we hung out, I knew they were going to be a fun crew to snowmobile with and we were in for a good time. They were chosen out of many families nominated across the province to represent the hard working volunteers who make the sport happen and I could tell from that first meeting over some vino and Itanian food, why they were chosen. They are downright some of the nicest and fun loving people you will ever meet.
Our Game plan was to take in the best trails in the area, punctuated with some cool destinations. I have to say this is one of my favorite routes that I have taken in Muskoka. And I will spend some time outlining the trails as a recommended route for those of you who are looking for an overnighter in Central Ontario, but also want to take it easy and enjoy the sites along the way.
The entire episode and all snowmobiler TV episodes are available to stream at Snowmobiler TV. If you sign up for an account (its FREE!) you can get access to all other episodes you might have missed on TV:
Special thanks to Claude Aumont at Ontario Tourism, Donna Mcloed at Rainbow Country and the OFSC for making such an awesome trip possible.
